AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication — tools and strategies that help people communicate when speech alone isn't enough. VOIS is designed for non-verbal and pre-verbal children who use picture-based communication boards. If your child's speech therapist has recommended an AAC app, VOIS is a good fit.
No — home plans (Personal, Family, and Family Plus) are a single once-off payment. You pay once and VOIS is yours. There are no monthly fees, no renewals, and no expiry. Only the Professional plan for schools and therapists is a monthly subscription.
Every language. You record your own voice for each communication card — so VOIS works in isiZulu, Afrikaans, English, isiXhosa, Sesotho, Setswana, or any other language. Your child hears a familiar voice, not a computer. There is no language lock-in.
Yes. VOIS is a Progressive Web App that works on any phone, tablet, or computer with a modern browser. Your boards sync to the cloud so they're available on every device you sign into. Voice recordings are stored on the device they were recorded on — you'll need to re-record on each device you use.
Yes. All data is stored on servers in Ireland (EU) with strict GDPR-level protection. We collect only what's needed — your child's first name, the cards and photos you create. We never sell data or use it for advertising. VOIS is fully POPIA-compliant. Read our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
The Professional plan includes session logging (date, therapist, therapy type, attendance, outcomes), therapy goal setting with progress tracking and history, observation tags for clinical notes, multiple therapist management, and parental consent recording.
